I spent a long weekend visiting my sister in Wyoming. She is the primary caretaker of our Mom. Mom has Alzheimer's. She has recently been checked into a nursing home. It is so hard to see my Momma in the nursing home. She knows she is "in a fix" as she calls it. She wants to "go home" but her house has been sold to a young family who loves the house. Dad passed away in 1989.
Since short term memory is totally gone, it is better to talk to her about things that happened in the past. We talked about days gone by, mostly good memories to lighten the mood. She seemed to think that we were at the Grange Hall sometimes. Grange meetings are a good memory so it is good that she thinks she is there.
I hate Alzheimer's.
